Mag Networks has been laying fibre in Nairobi CBD since 2019. Today we serve 50+ buildings and run 30+ public MagNet hotspots.
HOW IT STARTED
One line, one street, then the whole CBD.
Origin story
Mag Networks started in 2019 with a single fibre line and a simple frustration: downtown Nairobi was full of shops the big ISPs treated as an afterthought. Salons, electronics traders, M-Pesa agents and small hotels were sold lopsided home packages — fast download, slow upload — and left waiting days for a technician who never quite knew the building.
So we did it the other way round. We started on Sheikh Karume Road and lit the buildings around us, one at a time, with symmetric business-grade fibre — the same speed up as down, on every plan. When a line went down, the engineer who installed it walked over. Word moved building to building, street to street.
Today Mag Networks runs across 50+ buildings and 30+ public MagNet hotspots, from Moi Avenue east to Kirinyaga Road. One network, two ways to use it: a recurring line for the shop, a KSh 10 voucher for everyone walking past. Still downtown. Still five minutes away.

WHY WE’RE STILL HERE
Plenty of networks have come and gone in the CBD. We’re still here because we built slowly, kept prices honest, and answered when the phone rang.
Six years in, the same team still sits on Sheikh Karume Road — and we plan to be here for the next six. No customer counts to inflate, no head office in another city. Just one network, held together downtown.
